How to win and loose on the come out roll

This picture is the basic craps table.  In this post I'm going to show you ways you can win and lose on the come out roll.
On the come out roll the don't pass bar and the pass line bets will be in play.  The pass line wins on a seven or an eleven.  The pass line looses on the two, a three, or a twelve.  If you read my post about the odds for each bet you'll see the 7 has a 6/36 times on being rolled, the eleven has a 2/36 times on being rolled, so that's 8/36 you have on winning on the come out roll.  Now, when you look at the odds for each number you'll see you have a 1/36 times on rolling a 2, a 2/36 times on rolling a 3, and a 1/36 times on rolling a 12.  That's 4/36 times that you have to loose on the come out roll if you bet the pass line.  So, to win on the pass line bet on the come out roll you have a 8/36 chances, and to loose on the come out roll when betting the pass line you have a 4/36 chances.
Last year when I was teaching one of my friends how to play craps they asked me what a come out roll.  You notice the four, the five, the six, the eight, the nine, and the ten up above.  I call those the box numbers.  The come out roll is the roll before those numbers are rolled.  Once the box number is rolled that box number will be the point.
You have now learned how to win and loose on the pass line bet on the come out roll, now I'm going to teach you how to win on the don't pass bar on the come out roll and how to loose the don't pass bar on the come out roll.
On this craps table you see how there is a pair of dice with each dice showing six.  That means twelve.  What this is saying is that the don't pass bar pushes on the number 12 on the come out roll.  In order to win on the don't pass bar you win when you roll a 2 and you also win when you roll a 3.  To roll a 2 you have a 1/36 chance, and to roll a 3 you have a 2/36 chance.  So, to win on the come out roll on the don't pass bar you have a 3/36 chance.  If a seven is rolled or an eleven is rolled you loose on the don't pass bar.  That's an 8/36 chance on loosing on the don't pass bar on the come out roll and a 3/36 chance on winning on the don't come bar on the come out roll.
You know now how to win and loose on the come out roll and what the come out roll is.
